High School – Taming of the Shrew 11:45-12:15 pm Load out- Performances Apollo, Franklin, Spencer Noon LUNCH 12:45 - 1:15 pm Load in- McCreary, Dunbar, Perry Central 1:30 pm McCreary Central County High School – The Ninth Train 2:30 pm Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School - Storm in the Barn 3:30 pm Perry Central County High School – The Bell Witch 4:30 pm Load out- - McCreary, Dunbar, Perry Central Mastering your 60 Seconds: Get those 32 measure cuts in tip top shape! Participants will workshop breath awareness and musical theatre vocal technique and exercises to unlock vocal confidence for peak performance. In addition, singers will present 32 measures of their song of choice for individual insight and feedback. All repertoire styles are welcome. Please bring a 32 bar cut of a song that you’re working on with you. (GWH 105, Capacity 15) Bubble Gum and Banana Peels: Introduction to Physical Comedy: This workshop is an introduction to slapstick comedy. In the tradition of performers such as Buster Keaton, Jerry Lewis, and Molly Shannon, we’ll practice stage falls, creating imaginary obstacles, and staying true to the imaginary circumstances. (GWH 307, Capacity 12) Playwriting: Crafting a Character: Get inspired to write the next great American play through creating compelling characters and monologues. (GWH 311, Capacity 30)
5:30 – 6:30 pm Workshop Session 2 Intro to Improv: Learn the rules of improv and sharpen your skills through a series of fun, fast paced theatre games used by professional troupes like Second City. (GWH 312, Capacity: 16) Learn a British Dialect: Learn the fundamentals of a standard British dialect. You can do it even if you’ve never tried before; you just need to know a few simple techniques. Jolly good fun! (GWH 105, Capacity 20) Playwriting: Crafting a Character: Get inspired to write the next great American play through the process of creating compelling characters and monologues.
