Our goal is to celebrate the rich and vibrant theatrical activity taking part in Kentucky. We seek to facilitate open communication among the academic, community, and professional theatre companies in the state; promote high theatrical standards; and help build awareness and appreciation for theatre in all its forms.

Festivals & Events

High School Festival
Each year, KTA celebrates the best High School Theatre produced in the state. Schools enter our Regional Festival with productions of cuttings or short plays and qualifying entried move on to the State Festival.

Community Theatre Festival
Each year, KTA celebrates the best Community Theatre produced in the state. At the annual State Theatre Conference, Community Theatres gather to showcase their production work and compete.

Middle Grades Festival
Each year, KTA celebrates the best Middle School Theatre produced in the state. Schools interested in competing are encouraged to submit productions of cuttings or short plays which will be adjudicated by accomplished theatre professionals.
